Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announces a new family of surface-mount aluminum capacitors with very low impedance, high ripple current, long useful life, and solderability under lead (Pb)-free conditions. The new 150 CRZ capacitors also comply with the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS).

Key Applications:

• Ideally suited for filtering, smoothing, buffering, and voltage-decoupling applications in lead (Pb)-free electronic circuits

• Can be utilized in end products including automotive components, industrial controls, SMPS units, domestic appliances, and telecom equipment

Features:

• Very low "Z," or lowest at 100 kHz, that is specified as low as 0.06 ohms

• High rated ripple current up to 1007 mA at 105 °C

• Very long useful life of 5,000 hours at 105 °C

• Self-healing, polarized aluminum capacitors have non-solid electrolyte

• Charge- and discharge- proof with no peak current limitations

• Available in three case sizes:

        • 0810 (8 mm x 8mm x 10 mm)

        • 1010 (10 mm x 10 mm x 14 mm)

        • 1014 (10 mm x 10 mm x 14 mm)

        • 1213 (12.5 mm x 12.5 mm x 13 mm)

        • 1216 (12.5 mm x 12.5 mm x 16 mm)

The Perspective:

Vishay's previous generation of SMD aluminum capacitors, the 150 CLZ series, could not withstand lead (Pb) - free soldering conditions. The new 150 CRZ series features the same capabilities as the 150 CLZ series, including a very low Z, and is compatible with lead (Pb) - free solder.

The Key Benefits:

• Same capabilities as the previous 150 CLZ, but also able to withstand lead (Pb) - free soldering conditions, making their uses less harmful to the environment.

Availability

Samples of the 150 CRZ capacitors are available now with lead times of four to seven weeks. Production quantities are available with lead times of 8 to 12 weeks for larger orders
