Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announces the
extension of its 298D series of MicroTan™ solid tantalum chip
capacitors to offer industry-best capacitance-voltage ratings in two small
molded package sizes.
- Leverages the patented MAP (multi-array packaging) assembly
technology
- High capacitance-voltage ratings enable more stylish end
products by requiring less printed circuit board space and reduced product
thickness
- Rectangular molded case encapsulation is ideal for high-volume
PCB assembly
The Key Specifications:
- 220µF-4V CV rating in 0805 footprint
- 2.40 mm x 1.45 mm with a 1.20-mm maximum profile
- 1µF-25V to 47µF-4V CV ratings in 0603 footprint
- 1.60-mm x 0.85-mm with a 0.90-mm maximum profile
The Perspective:
Vishay has extended its 298D series of MicroTan™
solid tantalum chip capacitors to offer the industry’s first
220µF-4V capacitance-voltage rating in the molded 0805 P-case
package. In the compact 0603 M-case, the series offers capacitance-voltage
ratings of 1µF-25V to 47µF-4V. By combining these high ratings
with two compact footprints, the 298D series requires less printed circuit
board space, enabling smaller, more stylish handheld electronic
devices.

Samples and production quantities of the extended 298D
