VideoTech Library


Introduction

The VideoTech Library is a series of instructional VHS videotape cassettes for strain gage installation. As described in the Selection Guide below, the first three volumes cover installations for general-purpose strain measurements. The fourth volume covers elevated-temperature applications.

The procedures outlined in the VideoTech Library will help both novice and experienced strain gage users to make reliable, professional-caliber strain gage installations every time.

The videotape presentation format of these dependable, proven, state-of-the-art methods can be adapted with equal success to individual, self-taught programs, or to group training sessions. Each tape contains instruction for general-purpose surface preparation, gage bonding, leadwire attachment, and typical environmental protections. Organized in detailed, fully illustrated steps, each tape concludes with an example of a successful strain gage installation. With the VideoTech Library at hand, the trainee learns by doing each of the prescribed steps to reproduce the actual installation.

Selection Guide

Volumes 1-3 of the VideoTech Library begin with the same sequence (VS-101) covering general-purpose surface preparation and end with the same sequence(VS-141) describing general-purpose protective coatings. The intermediate sequences on gage bonding and leadwire attachment, however, vary according to gage series, adhesive, and type of measurement. Volume 4 also begins with VS-101, but remaining sequences cover gage installations for elevated-temperature applications.
