Gage Selection Procedures
The performance of a strain gage in any given
application is affected by every element in the
design and manufacture of the gage.
Micro-Measurements offers a great variety of gage
types for meeting the widest range of strain
measurement needs. Despite the large number of
variables involved, the process of gage selection
can be reduced to only a few basic steps. From the
diagram below based on the gage designation code,
it is evident that there are but six parameters to
select, including options. These are the
gage length
