Heard in the Classroom

  • Part of the art of teaching is not to tell the truth completely.
  • Studying for the exam won't help you anyway.
  • So if I've made no mistake this is the answer.
  • This is correct except for some errors.
  • As long as you don't make a mistake, you can do whatever you like.
  • It's a standard thing in physics to simplify things by using more and more obscure notation.
  • I will now, for reasons that will become obvious in a minute, write this nice formula in a more complicated way.
  • Now the whole thing has become child's play . . . that's the kind of integral everybody loves.
  • Even in quantum mechanics you can't divide by zero.
  • That's almost always the case, except when it's not.
  • Now that we're out of time, I want to cover one more thing.
