Grid Alloys

The grid alloy affects the strain sensitivity, maximum elongation, fatigue life, resistance, stability, and numerous other aspects of the gage grid.

Standard Alloys

A Constantan alloy in self-temperature-compensated form. Widely used.

P Annealed constantan. Used for high-elongation (post-yield) gages.

D Isoelastic alloy. High gage factor and high fatigue life.

K Nickel-chromium alloy (similar to Karma) used for self-temperature-compensated gages with applications in more extreme test environments.
