Vishay Launches New Line of 1008 Inductors: Compact, High-Frequency Devices Provide New Option For Hand-Held Systems

YANKTON, SOUTH DAKOTA - June 18, 1999 - Vishay Dale is adding to the options available to electronic systems designers and purchasers with the release of a new family of high-frequency wirewound inductors in the surface-mount 1008 package.

A drop-in replacement for the industry standard 1008 package, the new IMC-1008 series features 34 components, with inductance values ranging from 3.3 nH to 3,300 nH. For impedance matching, selective filtering, and tuned circuit applications, the new IMC-1008 inductors will save space with a footprint measuring just 2.5 x 2.0 mm with a 1 mm height profile, and thus help reduce the size and weight of mobile phones, pagers, and other hand-held systems.

Precision wound IMC-1008 series inductors feature high self-resonant frequency values and high Q values (Q_MIN from 25 to 50) at higher frequencies. With maximum DC resistance as low as 60 milliohms with current ratings up to 600 mA, the IMC-1008 series provides reliable performance in a wide range of applications.

IMC-1008 inductors are provided in tape and reel form for automated assembly, and are compatible with both vapor phase and infrared reflow soldering methods.
