BCcomponents boosts its leading position in axial capacitors with extended product range

July 12, 2001 — BCcomponents has strengthened its leading position in axial capacitors by increasing its production capacity and launching an extension to its product range of axial aluminum electrolytic capacitors, already the broadest portfolio of its kind available on the market.

The new additions include products with larger can sizes up to 30 x 50 mm and voltages up to 500 V to BCcomponents' portfolio for the first time. The new products include the 026/027 ACR axial 105 °C elcaps for long life and high ripple current capability; 024/025 AMR axial miniaturized elcaps with high capacitance per unit volume and 022/023 ASR axial standard elcaps.

“We have stepped up our production capacity and can now offer volume supplies of a greater range of axial capacitors, including larger can sizes and increased voltages,” said Herman Brunen, product manager for axial electrolytic capacitors at BCcomponents. “We can also offer one-to-one replacements for most competitor axials with the advantages of our proven logistics, customized devices and short lead times. This is further evidence of our commitment to offering customers a broad range of cost-effective solutions for their advanced products.”

The new products extend BCcomponents' capabilities in the axials market by offering a wider portfolio of case sizes and voltages. They will help meet the growing demand for these components in a range of application areas including automotive, lighting, domestic appliances - such as kitchen equipment - and consumer devices - such as television sets. The capacitors offer the advantages of low mounting height, high shock and vibration capability and very long useful life.

Samples are available now and the products are available in volume from October 2001. The axial electrolytic capacitors are available taped, on-reel or loose in box. Design-in support and customized versions are also available on request. Datasheets can be found at www.bccomponents.com.
