Accurate long leaded NTC chip thermistors ideal for refrigerator, freezer, air conditioning and floor heating applicationsNovember 21, 2002 BCcomponents has introduced negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor sensors that combine high electrical accuracy with superior humidity and thermal cycling features. The new devices are ideally suited for temperature sensing and control in refrigerator, freezer, air conditioning and floor heating applications. The sensors are available with PVC single or double insulated cables in line with EN60730/VDE Class I or Class II insulation requirements. The Class 1 insulated thermistor has a withstand voltage of 1500 VAC and the Class II device is rated at 3750 VAC. Minimum insulation resistance in both cases is 100 Mohm. The new NTC thermistors offer options for PCB edge connector, PCB insertion, PCB soldering, wire-to-wire or terminal block insertion. Available in various mechanical versions - including custom plastic cap diameters and lead lengths, these sensors also benefit from BCc's well-known electrical features such as a broad range of R25 values. A high adhesive strength between the PVC wire and encapsulating material allows for greater durability, particularly in conditions of high humidity, while response time in temperature change varies from 10 to 60 seconds, according to the sensor type. The single or multiple sensors' cables are suitable for being foamed-in on the back panel of fridges, clamped on a metal or plastic wall, or cemented in the floor. Vishay Intertechnology, Inc., a Fortune 1,000 Company listed on the NYSE (VSH), is one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors (diodes, rectifiers, transistors, and optoelectronics and selected ICs) and passive electronic components (resistors, capacitors, inductors, sensors, and transducers). These components are used in virtually all types of electronic devices and equipment, in the industrial, computing, automotive, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace, and medical markets. Its product innovations, successful acquisition strategy, and ability to provide "one-stop shop" service have made Vishay a global industry leader.
