(NYSE: VSH). The new Vishay Spectrol Model 21P is designed to serve as a counting turn dial for industrial control applications in which there is a need to read the number of turns of a transducer shaft. The Model 21P features a round Vernier scale on its graduated dial, providing excellent readability and precision feel, as well as high accuracy and a locking brake to keep the reading set. To eliminate guesswork, a mechanism on the dial sounds an alert to the user when a full cycle has been completed. The device’s window indicates the completed number of turns of the drive sleeve, while the graduated circular dial indicates the percent of the partial turn of the drive sleeve. Readouts increase with clockwise motion and decrease with counter-clockwise motion. The Model 21P is capable of displaying readings of up to 1099 turns. The dial may be mounted directly to the transducer shaft with an Allen key included - along with mounting instructions - under the same part number. A 6mm adapter also is available in the dial package. With a clear, metallized (aluminum) finish over a plastic ABS mold, the new dial offers a high-quality, cost-efficient alternative to chrome metal dials. The Model 21P weighs just 13 grams and is suitable for use with all rotary transducers. Samples and production quantities of the Vishay Spectrol Model 21P are available now, with lead times of four to six weeks for larger orders.
