Vishay Transducers to Supply Crane Load Cells and Instruments for Iron and Steel Manufacturing in China

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA - January 7, 2005 - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announces that Vishay Transducers, through its Vishay Nobel office in Sweden, has been awarded a contract to design and supply to customers special crane load cells and associated instruments for iron and steel manufacturing operations in China.

The special 250-ton-capacity load cells are designed to perform in the extreme industrial environment of steel mills. The weighing measurement data of the load cells is used to maximize the operating efficiency of mills, and also is a critical part of the safety systems of the cranes.
