Vishay Chosen as Finalist for 2008 EE Times ACE Awards in Ultimate Products of the Year, Analog ICs Category

(NYSE: VSH) today announced that the company.s SiP12510 and SiP12511 white LED drivers have been selected as finalists for the 2008 EE Times Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards, in the category of Ultimate Products of the Year, Analog ICs. The ACE Awards recognize the electronics engineering industry's most innovative companies and breakthrough technologies.

The EE Times ACE Awards are judged by a panel of industry experts, comprised of the leading voices of academia, industry, and Wall Street executives. The Ultimate Products of the Year are awarded to the most significant products introduced in the last 12 months in each of seven categories, as determined by large-scale peer review. The Vishay Siliconix SiP12510 and SiP12511 are 1.25-MHz current-mode boost converters with a feedback reference voltage of 0.1 V. Offered in the compact TSOT23-6 package, the new devices offer a complete LED driver solution that requires minimal external components and integrates several protection features, including overvoltage protection, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and thermal shutdown block. To enable full control over LED illumination intensity, the SiP12510 and SiP12511 support both linear and PWM techniques for regulating the LED string current.
