Ambient Light Sensor Development Kit

Vishay Intertechnology continues to add to its optoelectronics portfolio by announcing a development kit supporting its recently released ambient light sensor portfolio. Significantly reducing development and programming time, the kit provides engineers with tools available nowhere else that jump-start the design of sensor applications. Engineers can use the sensor and adapter PCB together to test ambient light conditions and develop programming. Once initial designs are complete, the sensor PCB can be wired directly to a controller via the I2C interface. .

Features:

  • Sensor PCB with any of Vishay's ambient light sensors, analog-to-digital converter, and I2C interface

  • Adapter PCB that converts the I2C signal to RS-232 for easy connection to a PC

  • Windows®-based software

    • Provides programmable sampling rate and gain

    • Displays the ambient illumination in Lux, µA, voltage, decimal, and hexadecimal format

  • 9-pin connector cable
