The Key Applications:
- Industrial and aeronautic control panel and heavy-duty control
applications in end products including cockpits, trucks and tractors, HVAC
systems, welding machines, tooling machines, field and mine equipment, and
water-resistant equipment
The News:
New Vishay Sfernice PE60 is Industry's First Power Panel
Potentiometer With a Cermet Element to Offer a Power Rating of 6 W at 50
°C, and Provides Resistance Ranges from 1 Ω to 1 M Ω and Dielectric
Strength of 2500 VRMS in Compact, Fully Sealed Package
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announces the industry's
first power panel potentiometer with a cermet element to feature a 6-W
power rating at 50 °C.
- Its cermet element provides better stability than carbon
elements
- Custom shafts are available
- Offers a low 3 % typical contact resistance variation and 1 %
typical end resistance
- Provides a maximum operating torque of 4.3 oz.-inch and an end stop
torque of 6 lb.-inch
- Electrical performance is in accordance with CECC 41 000
Key Device Specifications:
- 6-W power rating at 50 °C
- 1- Ω to 1-M Ω resistance ranges
- 2500-VRMS dielectric strength
- 25-mm diameter
- 3 % typical contact resistance variation
- 1 % typical end resistance
- Standard ±20 % tolerance, with tolerances of 5 % and 10 % available
- Maximum operating torque of 4.3 oz.-inch
- End stop torque of 6 lb.-inch
- 3 % typical contact resistance variation
- Operating temperature range of -55 °C to +125 °C
The Perspective:
Vishay's new PE60 is the industry's first power panel potentiometer
with a cermet element to feature a 6-W power rating at 50 °C. The device
offers US and EU bushing threads in a fully sealed package; and with a
compact 25-mm diameter, the PE60 is smaller when compared to other panel
potentiometers. Its cermet element provides better stability than carbon
elements, while its strong dielectric (2500 VRMS), and non-inductive
design offer greater robustness in industrial and aeronautic control
applications.
Availability:
Samples and production quantities of the PE60 are available now, with
lead times of eight to 10 weeks for larger orders.
