The Metallurgy Industry places strict demands on its equipment. It has to withstand both high temperature and dusty, harsh environments. Unplanned downtimes are not tolerated so the equipment needs to be designed for un-interrupted performance while maintaining the accuracy and the repeatability as specified.
Weighing in Cranes and Overhead Cranes
Vishay Transducers has extensive application expertise in turning cranes and overhead cranes into scales for both OEM and retrofit installations. Cylindrical load cells often replace a shaft or axel, thereby turning the crane into a scale without major rework. We closely cooperate with end users in developing and designing custom load cells and software applications for weighing and control systems. We have designed and built load cells capable of to handling loads of up to 500 tones (each).
Scales
The construction and building of accurate, robust scales are an important part of the know-how Vishay Nobel offers the Metallurgy Industry. We build scales capable of weighing scrap metal where up to 15 tonnes are falling upon the scale from a height of 5 meters. Our plant-wide weigh system solutions range from raw material handling to processing and handling of finished products.
