Reel Optimizing Systems (ROS) eliminate roll defects while improving roll density

Application Requirement
At the end of the paper producing process, complete rolls must be wound smoothly without cracks or wrinkles. This reel-winding zone must function seamlessly (from roll to roll) to maintain machine productivity.

With load cells installed in the primary and secondary arms, close to the spool, Reel Optimizing Systems provide extremely accurate measurement of nip force. Reel Optimizing Systems smooth and synchronize movement of the reel arm, and maintain correct nip load tension from the first few winds to the completed roll.

Online density measurement provides rapid feedback for optimizing the calender after a line shutdown, or when changing paper grades.

ROS systems provide highly accurate length and diameter measurement. They also include a feature for calculating the required tambour diameter for the scheduled winder sets.
