Vishay Intertechnology Releases New Thin Film Precision Resistor Networks in SOIC Packages
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA - March 15, 2000 - A new series of surface-mount resistor networks in narrow-body SOIC packages was released today by Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. The new NOMC series, built on Vishay's thin film technology, combines a high resistor density with temperature coefficient ratio tracking of ±5 ppm/°C. Typical applications will include test, measurement, sensor, transducer, and voltage cross-current regulation circuits and in many other applications that require precision feedback or dense packaging.
The new NOMC thin film silicon precision resistor networks feature a 7 or 8 resistance count with tolerances to ±0.1% and resistance ratio matching to ±0.05%. The typical temperature coefficient is ±25 ppm/°C. With a resistance range from 100 Ω to 100 kΩ, standard off-the-shelf values are 1 kΩ, 2 kΩ, 5 kΩ, 10 kΩ, 20 kΩ and 100 kΩ.
To optimize performance for their applications, designers can choose from standard Tamelox® or custom tantalum nitride resistor films. Both standard and custom schematics are available. In designs with limited board space, the NOMC series' integrated design will lower the installation cost per element compared with discrete resistors and provide a higher level of reliability.
NOMC resistor networks are packaged in 14- and 16-pin narrow-body molded SOICs with industry-standard 50-mil-pitch lead spacing (MS-012 footprint) and a height profile of just 1.6 mm. Samples and production quantities are available now, with lead times of stock to eight weeks.
