5 Small Signal MOSFETs in Tiny SC-70 Package Unveiled by Vishay
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA - March 27, 2000 - Five new low-threshold small-signal MOSFETs for load switching and driver applications were announced today by Vishay Intertechnology. Packaged in the 3-pin and 6-pin SC-70, the new Vishay Siliconix MOSFETs combine a tiny footprint with a typical gate-threshold voltage of just 0.9 V, making them ideal for cell phones, PDAs, and other battery-operated systems.
Released today were the n-channel TN0205A (single) and TN0205AD (dual), the p-channel TP0205A (single) and TP0205AD (dual), and the dual n- and p-channel TC0205AD. All five devices offer rated operation at 2.5 V to maximize battery life. Maximum on-resistance per channel for the TN0205A and TN0205AD is 2 ohms at a 4.5-V gate drive and 2.5 ohms at a 2.5-V gate drive. Maximum on-resistance per channel for the TP0205A and TP0205AD is 3.8 ohms at a -4.5-V gate drive and 5 ohms at a -2.5-V gate drive. Maximum current ratings are 250 mA for the n-channel devices and -180 mA for the p-channel devices.
In addition to the end products mentioned above, the new devices will be used as drivers in displays and memories, where the TC0205AD can be used to replace a more expensive digital transistor.
Packaged in 3-pin (TN0205A and TP0205A) and 6-pin (TN0205AD, TP0205AD, TC0205AD) SC-70 packages with a footprint measuring just 2.0 mm x 2.1 mm, samples of all five new MOSFETs are available now with lead times of 8 to 10 weeks for larger orders.
