New Vishay 0402, X5R Dielectric MLCC Provides Top Capacitance for Ultra-Compact Products
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA-March 9, 2001-Vishay Intertechnology (NYSE: VSH) has released a new X5R dielectric multilayer ceramic chip capacitor (MLCC) that offers the industry's highest capacitance value in an 0402 size package. The Vishay Vitramon VJ0402 is specifically designed for bypass, decoupling, and filtering applications in miniature systems such as hearing aids, implantable devices, and today's streamlined cellular phones.
Offering a capacitance of 0.1 μF, the VJ0402 boasts the highest X5R dielectric capacitance value currently available in its size. It is available in a DC voltage rating of 10 V and capacitance tolerances of ±5%, ±10%, and ±20%. The chip capacitor features a maximum dissipation factor of 4.0% (at 1 vrms and 1 kHz) and a temperature coefficient of capacitance (TCC) of μ15% from -55°C to +85°C. Vishay's VJ0402 measures 0.040" by 0.020" (1.0 mm by 0.5 mm) with a maximum thickness of 0.024" (0.6 mm).
With this new MLCC, Vishay provides unsurpassed capacitance in a package that gives designers and manufacturers the capability to produce products with ultra-miniature form factors.
Samples of the VJ0402 capacitor are available now. Production quantities are available now, with a lead time of 22 weeks for larger orders. The VJ0402 is available in both bulk and tape and reel packaging.
