New Electronics Industry Award is Named After Dr. Felix Zandman, Founder and Chairman of Vishay
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA, March 18, 2005 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announces that Dr. Felix Zandman, the founder, Chairman, and Chief Technical and Business Development Officer of Vishay, has had a new award named after him by the Electronic Components, Assemblies & Materials Association (ECA). The Dr. Felix Zandman Award will be presented on March 20, 2005, at the CARTS (Capacitor and Resistor Technology Symposium) USA event in Palm Springs, California, in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of CARTS USA.
Dr. Felix Zandman has published four textbooks and many scientific papers. He holds numerous patents in the United States and abroad. His many honors and awards include the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) Medal of Honor, the Order of Merit for Research and Invention (France), the Distinguished Contribution Award from the American Society for Stress Analysis, the Franklin Institute Medal for Science, the Best Strategic Investor Award from the Israel Manufacturers Association (awarded by the President of Israel), and the Legion of Honor (awarded by the president of France).
The 2005 winner and subsequent winners of the Dr. Felix Zandman Award will be selected based on criteria including technical accomplishment, outstanding service and dedication, academic achievement or support, and industry leadership and vision.
