New Vishay Siliconix AEC-Q101-Qualified TrenchFET® Power MOSFETs With 175 °C Junction Temperature Rating Are Industry-First for Automotive in 3-mm by 3-mm PowerPAK® Package
MALVERN, Pa. — Nov. 14, 2007 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today launched a new series of automotive AEC-Q101-qualified TrenchFET® power MOSFETs with two 60-V devices in a PowerPAK® 1212-8 package rated for a 175 °C junction temperature.
Measuring 3.3 mm by 3.3 mm with a height profile of 1.07 mm, these new AEC-Q101-qualified MOSFETs are the smallest on the market capable of handling power applications in the automotive environment and the first such devices to be offered in the PowerPAK 1212-8.
With a junction-to-case thermal resistance of 2.4 °C/W, the new devices will be used in many cases to replace power MOSFETs in the less thermally efficient standard SO-8, enabling significant board space savings.
The new AEC-Q101-qualified MOSFETs address all automotive applications requiring 175 °C-rated devices, including engine controllers, transmission controllers, and motor drives.
