Vishay Extends 150 CRZ Series of SMD Aluminum Capacitors to Provide Z as Low as 60 mΩ, Capacitance Values up to 2200 μF, and Ripple Currents to 1007 mA at +105 °C
High-Reliability Devices Offered in Five Case Sizes for Automotive and Industrial Systems
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA — July 9, 2008 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced that it has extended the capabilities of its 150 CRZ series of surface-mount aluminum capacitors to offer low impedance values, high capacitances and ripple currents, and 4-pin versions for high vibration capability.
The 150 CRZ devices are available in five case sizes, ranging from 8 mm by 8 mm by 10 mm to the larger 12.5 mm by 12.5 mm by 16 mm. For enhanced performance and reliability, the capacitors offer very low impedance (Z) that is specified as low as 60 mΩ at 100 kHz, a high rated ripple current of 1007 mA at +105 °C, and a capacitance range from 33 μF to 2200 μF over a voltage range of 6.3 V to 63 V.
A polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitor with a non-solid, self-healing electrolyte, the device.s specifications make it ideally suited for filtering, smoothing, buffering, and voltage decoupling applications in automotive and industrial systems.
For high vibration capability, 150 CRZ capacitors with a 12.5-mm diameter are standard in 4-pin versions and feature a long life of 5000 h at +105 °C. 4-pin versions of 10-mm products are available on request.
The RoHS-compliant devices are charge- and discharge-proof, so there is no peak current limitation. The capacitors operate over an ambient temperature range of −55 °C to +105 °C.
The 150 CRZ devices are supplied in blister tape-on-reel packaging. Samples and production quantities are available now, with lead times of 15 weeks for larger orders.
