Vishay Announces New IHLP® Low-Profile, High-Current Inductor in the 2020 Case Size With An Ultra-Low 2.0-mm Profile and Maximum Frequency to 1 MHz
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA — Dec. 19, 2008 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced a new IHLP® low-profile, high-current inductor in the 2020 case size. The compact IHLP-2020BZ-11 offers an ultra-low 2.0-mm profile, with a wide inductance range and low DCR.
With a frequency range up to 1 MHz, the new IHLP inductor serves as a high-performing, space- and power-saving solution for voltage regulator module (VRM) and dc-to-dc converter applications in end products including next-generation mobile devices; notebooks, desktop computers, servers, graphic cards, portable gaming devices, personal navigation systems, personal multimedia devices, and automotive systems; low-profile, high-current power supplies and point of load (POL) converters; distributed power systems; and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
The IHLP-2020BZ-11 offers an inductance range from 0.10 μH to 10 μH, a saturation current range from 2.0 A up to 25 A, typical DCR from 2.7 mΩ to 169.3 mΩ, and maximum DCR from 2.9 mΩ to 182.8 mΩ.
The new inductor handles high transient current spikes without hard saturation. Packaged in an RoHS-compliant, 100 % lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise to ultra-low levels, the new device is specified for an operating temperature range of 55 °C to +125 °C, with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration. The IHLP series is qualified to AEC-Q200 standards.
Samples and production quantities of the new inductor are available now, with lead times of 10 to 12 weeks for large orders.
