Vishay Intertechnology to Feature Industry-Leading MOSFETs, Passive Components, Diodes, and Power ICs at APEC 2014
MALVERN, Pa. — Mar. 11, 2014 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced its technology line-up for the Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC) 2014, taking place March 16-20 in Fort Worth, Texas. In booth 921, the company will be highlighting its latest industry-leading power MOSFET, passive component, diode, and power IC technologies for a wide range of applications.
Vishay Siliconix power MOSFET technologies on display at APEC 2014 will include TrenchFET® Gen IV devices with industry-low on-resistance down to 1.35 mΩ at 4.5 V; PowerPAIR® co-packaged MOSFETs that save space over using discrete solutions, while increasing power density and efficiency; TrenchFET p-channel Gen III devices with the lowest on-resistance ever achieved for p-channel MOSFETs; the AEC-Q101-qualified SQ Rugged Series; and 650 V E Series devices for increased efficiency.
Highlighted power ICs will include products from the Vishay Siliconix microBUCK® family of integrated synchronous buck regulators. High-efficiency devices with ultra-fast transient response time for network processors, DSPs, FPGAs, ASICs, set-top boxes, and more will be on display; as well as compact regulators with programmable LDO for battery-operated mobile computing devices. In addition, Vishay will be demonstrating the SiC620R 70 A DrMOS power stage for high-frequency switching > 800 kHz, and the company's free online PowerCAD design simulation tool.
For automotive and commercial applications, diodes on display from Vishay Semiconductors will include TMBS® Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers in low-profile SMPA and SMPD packages. Combining very low forward voltage drops with profiles down to 0.95 mm, the rectifiers reduce power loss and improve efficiency in low-voltage, high-frequency DC/DC converters, switching power supplies, freewheeling diodes, and polarity protection.
Vishay's passive components will consist of a wide variety of the Company’s latest capacitors, resistors, and inductors. Featured capacitors will include Vishay metallized polypropylene film capacitors for DC-link applications; aluminum electrolytic capacitors with ultra-long life; Vishay ESTA cylindrical capacitors for power electronics (PEC); single- and three-phase power factor correction (PFC) capacitors; and environmentally friendly X1, X2, and series impedance capacitors for severe ambient conditions.
Highlights from Vishay’s line of resistors will include water-cooled power devices; thick film power resistors; high-power wirewound devices; Vishay Dale Power Metal Strip® resistors; and the industry's first axial silicone cemented, fusible wirewound safety resistor designed to ensure safe and silent fusing operation during overload conditions, while offering surge voltage withstanding capability up to 6 kV (1.2 µs/50 µs). In addition, Vishay will be providing demonstrations of the pulse load performance of it SMD film resistors.
Featured Vishay Dale inductors will include low-profile, high-current devices in a wide range of case sizes and inductance values, and composite-coupled devices for use in SEPIC DC/DC converters and other applications. In addition, Vishay will be demonstrating its IWAS-4832FF-50 wireless charging receiving coil / shield with attractor, which exceeds the minimum 70 % efficiency requirements in WPC-compatible circuitry.
