Vishay Intertechnology to Showcase Efficiency and Reliability With Leading Technologies at Techno-Frontier 2015 in Japan
MALVERN, Pa. — May 18, 2015 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced that it will be exhibiting its latest semiconductors and passive components in booth 5D-201 at Power System Japan, a focused exhibition on power systems at Techno-Frontier 2015, being held at the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo from May 20 to 22, 2015. A component solutions provider for connectivity, mobility, and sustainability, Vishay will highlight industry-leading innovations — including passive components, diodes, power MOSFETs, and optoelectronics — that provide increased efficiency and reliability for a wide range of applications.
To provide the ruggedness and reliability required for automotive applications such as motor drives, electric power steering, transmission control, and injector drives, Vishay Siliconix will be showcasing its low-profile, high-power-density AEC-Q101-qualified SQ Rugged Series at Techno-Frontier 2015. Highlighted MOSFETs are offered in a wide range of packages, including the new 8 mm by 8 mm by 1.8 mm PowerPAK® 8x8L, which provides a space- and power-saving alternative to D2PAK and DPAK devices. Featuring low on-resistance n- and p-channel TrenchFET® technologies, SQ Rugged Series MOSFETs are rated for a maximum junction temperature of +175 °C and offer a rugged silicon design. At the exhibition, Vishay Siliconix will also be demonstrating the proven repetitive avalanche capability of its automotive Trench MOSFETs.
For automotive and solar inverter applications, Vishay Semiconductors will be featuring diodes in a variety of low-profile packages, including TMBS® Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers, standard rectifiers with ESD capability, and FRED Pt® hyperfast and ultrafast recovery rectifiers in the SMPD (TO-263AC) package; and FRED Pt ultrafast recovery rectifiers in the SlimSMA (DO-221AC) , SMF (DO-219AB), and SMPC (TO-277A) packages. 600 V and 650 V FRED Pt Gen 4 Ultrafast recovery diodes optimized for high-frequency converters will be on display, as well as Trench IGBTs designed to increase efficiency and IGBT power modules in EMIPAK-1B and EMIPAK-2B packages.
Vishay will also highlight optoelectronics products for MRI machines, portable electronics, and automotive, alternative energy, and industrial applications. Devices on display will consist of AEC-Q101-qualified proximity and ambient light sensors, transmissive sensors, and high-speed silicon PIN photodiodes, in addition to high-isolation optocouplers and widebody and longbody IGBT / MOSFET drivers. Vishay will be conducting demonstrations of its gesture control sensor board, which is composed of the VCNL4020 proximity sensor and two VSMF2890RGX01 infrared emitters.
Passive components from Vishay will consist of a wide variety of the company’s latest capacitors, resistors, and inductors. Highlighted resistors will include Vishay Dale Power Metal Strip® devices with high-temperature capabilities to +275 °C and low resistance down to 0.001 Ω, and high-current Power Metal Strip shunts for power meter and battery management applications. Vishay will be providing demonstrations of the company's MELF resistors and Power Metal Strip intelligent battery sensor. Vishay Dale will also showcase automotive-grade low-profile, high-current IHLP® inductors, and provide a demonstration of its IHLE-4040DC-5A inductor with an integrated e-field shield.
Featured capacitors at Techno-Frontier 2015 will include the Vishay BCcomponents 196 HVC ENYCAP™ series of hybrid ENergY storage capacitors with industry-high energy density of 13 Ws/g, Vishay ESTA line frequency and power electronic capacitors, Vishay Roederstein polypropylene film capacitors for DC-link applications, Vishay Vitramon VJ HVArc Guard devices for automotive applications, and Vishay Sprague MicroTan™ solid tantalum chip capacitors for portable electronics. Capacitor demonstrations will include a comparison of tantalum and ceramic devices, in addition to a simulation of a ceramic capacitor in a 5 kV breakdown test system.
