As safety is getting more important in industrial production as well as in computing, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems have become common for sensible applications. Supercapacitors as energy storage element offer a great benefit versus conventional battery power systems: there is no need for maintenance as the Enycap as a long lifetime and an unlimited number of cycles. Finally, the power density (Current/ Volume) is extremely high for the low ESR (equivalent series resistance) so that short time, high power backup is possible.
