RESISTOR MATERIAL
Tantalum Nitride and Nickel Chromium are the two resistor materials in use at Vishay Electro-Films. NiCr has a higher sheet resistance, can reach high resistor values in smaller areas, and has better TCR performance than TaN. However, NiCr is susceptible to moisture so resistor values can drift over time if the part is not in a hermetic package; TaN is recommended for non-hermetic applications.
